How to get to the island of Elba:
By plane: The Island of Elba is connected by scheduled flights from the international airports of Pisa, Florence and Milan by the company Elbafly. Are also connections with Berne, Friedrichshafen, Zurich, Hamburg, Münich.
The international airport is open to private planes.
The island of Elba is only an hour by ferry from Piombino Marittima, the ferry port of embarkation. The main destination with the most crossings is Portoferraio (ferry and hydrofoil), alternatives are Rio Marina and, only by hydrofoil, the port of Cavo.
By train:
The arrival station is the one of Piombino Marittima on the line Pisa - Roma. (see also www.ferroviedellostato.it)
By luxury coach:
The bus companies Sita and Atm offer a service between Florence and Piombino in about 2 and a half hours with a direct connection and only stops at Venturina and San Vincenzo.
Another link is provided via bus from June to September by Lineservizi between Milano and Piombino Porto in 6 hours 10 minuts with stops at San Giuliano Milanese, Melegnano, Lodi, Casalpusterlengo, Piacenza, Marina di Bibbona, Marina di Castagneto, Donoratico, San Vincenzo.
